Our Favourite Weight Loss Tea – Harmony T

Wu-Long Diet Tea

 

 

Quinoa Tabouleh

1 cup Quinoa

2 cups water

2  firm tomatoes(organic if possible)

1 red onion

3 cups continental parsley

3-4 shallots

1 telegraph cucumber or 2 Lebanese cucumbers

juice of 1 lemon

1/4 cup Olive oil

freshly ground salt and pepper.

Rinse quinoa a couple of times under running water. Place rinsed quinoa and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat cover and simmer for 10 minutes until water is absorbed. Allow to cool

Dice tomato, cucumber, onion and shallots add to cooled quinoa. Chop parsley and add to other ingredients. Mix lemon juice, oil, salt & pepper and pour over the salad mix. Toss thoroughly and set aside for 1/2 hr before serving to allow flavours to develop.

A great salad that will keep in the fridge for several days.

Hummus

This recipe is my husbands favorite. He even takes extra to work for his work colleagues, they love it with Rye crackers around the lunch table or in a meeting.

1 cup of cooked chick peas ( I used dried peas. 1/2 cup of dry will give 1 cup when soaked)

1-2 cloves of garlic

3 tablespoons of Tahini (I use organic)

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup good quality olive oil

Drain chick peas. Blend chick peas, tahini and lemon juice together until smooth. Add crushed garlic, blend until mixed through, then add oil slowly until you reach your desired consistency.

Serve with your favorite rice or Rye crackers, carrot, celery and Zucchini sticks are also yummy with Hummus for lunch.

Use instead of butter or margarine. It keeps in the fridge for days.
